Valentine's

Well ol' Valentine's Day was yesterday. We had a really good day just like any other couple. I don't have a love or hatred for the day; I just like to participate in a very level-headed, give each other little happy gift sort of way. No diamonds or filet mignon's required, in my opinion.

About 6 months ago, I came across a blog that showed a cute Valentine's Day project: "52 reasons why I love you", using a deck of cards. So I spent $0.94, and I took about 3 minutes to write to Andrew some reasons why I love him. When I was done, I thought of more. He's pretty great. He loved it; it made his day, I think.

He wrote me the sweetest note, and that's all I wanted or asked for. That, and a lunch date at Bistro Byronz after church this past Sunday.

Along with the kindest words, Andrew thanked me for carrying our baby. Well, it's not that I have a choice, but it's nice of him to have noticed and to be thanked for such a chore. A "thank you" for Valentine's Day is so sweet, but diamonds are appropriate for birthing.

I hope you all felt the love this Valentine's Day.

Today is the anniversary of our first date in Auburn. That must have been uncomfortable 5 years ago to go on a first date the day after V Day. It's a wonder we made it past that awkward test!
