I was finally able to rest after praying, "God, I'm so grateful that you have the entire life planned out for my baby; a girl or a boy. It's been determined."
On a blog this morning, I came across this scripture. It made me smile.
With my mind still racing a bit, I am somewhat calm until my appointment this morning.
Until then, I'll recap our weekend.
Friday night we went down to my parent's house with a mattress a box spring in the back of Andrew's truck. We raced to beat the rain. I needed to get the guest room pieces out to make room for the nursery. Saturday morning we drug out my old Jenny Lind crib from the attic. It was so precious to see it set up.
I started a project for the baby, a crocheted lovie using this pattern.
Mom is helping me, and I'm already stuck since coming back to my house. I chose blue yarn because it would be fitting for a boy or girl as opposed to pink being strictly for girls.
We enjoyed a morning on crochet and coffee.
I look forward to improving my crochet skills in time. You should see the blanket she is making for the baby. It's beautiful. We showed Andrew and he was impressed. Then he asked, "Is that some sort of baby scarf?" No, it's not. It's the beginning of a blanket.
Andrew enjoyed the Louisiana cuisine this time of year like every year. I think that's what makes us love our "delicacies" even more; because it's seasonal. Maybe that's why we love football so much too.
King cake.
Abita seasonal beer.
Boiled crawfish.
On Sunday we went to the parade in Thibodaux. The weather was beautiful, though a bit chilly. We visited and ate the best gumbo that was perfect for the cool day. I also ate 2 slices of the. best. king cake. ever. I wanted more, but that would have been glutenous. My mouth will be salivating for that particular king cake until I get it next year.
Our Fat Tuesday yesterday was pretty uneventful. Eating at Waffle House was pretty much the highlight. We relaxed, napped, and cooked dinner. Maybe next year I won't be pregnant, and we can go to New Orleans...
By then I'll be a real mom....of a baby girl or boy? Only God knows at this point. We'll know in a few hours!
Love this!
