Just a little tidbit of what's going on in my mind this early am.
Anyway, I am back; with a computer set up and everything. Well, ghetto set up, but I'm typing, aren't I?
I will not take a pic of my computer arrangements because you're sure to think less of me, but I will share with you our trip to New Orleans.
Y'all, my sweet Andrew's birthday is December 27; he always says that Jesus is a tough act to follow. He is. So I decided to jump ahead of Jesus' birthday and make Andrew's celebration on December 11. That's really the only night we had available on the weekend before the 3rd weekend in January. So after our garage sale, I surprised him by singing "Christmastime in New Orleans" in the best Louis Armstrong voice I could muster.
It worked. He laughed. He was excited.
So at 5:00, we set out for the hour drive to New Orleans. Well 2 1/2 hours later, we arrived...by the hardest. It was very stressful, but I kept my cool because IT WAS ANDREW'S BIRTHDAY PARTY! I kept praying, "Lord, please let us make it there so he can see the Heisman presentation!"
We arrived at Drago's on Poydras Street with an insane amount of people along there with us. There's a Saints game the next day. I forgot.
We got drinks to stand in line; that helped the stress a bit. We got to the front desk to get a pager only to find out there was a 2 hour wait. So frustrating. Andrew went throughout the restaurant and found 2 seats at the bar, in front of a TV. We decided to park it there, ordered oysters, ordered more drinks, and saw Mr. Cameron Newton accept his award for Heisman. I was so glad and grateful we had made it to see that!
Look at him.
We then ate the best oysters this world offers. And we had several Auburn fans give us some "War Eagles!" We have no idea where they came from.
Then we met up with the sweetest girl New Orleans ever knew, Miss Sarah Swan. I called Sarah earlier that day, and she was so excited to meet up. We decided to make it a double date night. First at The Roosevelt.
We had {way too expensive} drinks at the Sazerac bar inside The Roosevelt.
Then we went Uptown! They took us to Le Bon Temps. My parents used to frequent this bar apparently. Hello 1972!
Then we went to another bar on Magazine Street. The name escapes me. They do; however, have blueberry mojitos!
That's about our weekend. We drove away as the Saints fans were coming in. I'm sorry I wasn't able to score tixs. Maybe next year.
We went to the country {my parents house} to get a nasty vinyl chair that Andrew just loves. Then on home to BR we went. I can't wait to go to Nola again! Until next time...
Whitney its great to hear a speak of you on the blog. I know things have been busy with yall as moving is always CRAZY.
