Thank you for all the emails, phone calls, and texts! We're eating well, to say the least. We're grateful for a place to live. Andrew is learning Baton Rouge a little each day. I'm enjoying being home.
Here's my week in photos.
I bought champagne to celebrate Andrew's first day of work. I took a picture of him heading out the door to his first day of school work, but he wouldn't let me post it. He was real cute.
I've been unpacking.
And the only way we're getting in the Christmas spirit this year is through church, Thymes Frasier Fur candles, and Christmas music. The rest will have to wait until next year. Save your Bah Humbug's.
I took a break from unpacking by going on a day trip with the ladies to Grand Coteau and Lafayette and ate the best cajun food I've had in a long, long while.
I got the Fried Catfish Grand Chenier. (stuffed fried catfish topped with crawfish etoufee')
Saturday morning, I got up early to take a walk around the LSU lakes. There was a marathon going on with lots of folks cheering their people on. They cheered for me because they thought I was a part of the marathon. Yea right. That's the closest I'll ever get to participating in a marathon run.
I went home and woke up Andrew to go to Coffee Call for some beignets.
We enjoyed every. single. bite.
It's been a nice week being in good ol' Louisiana. I've missed their accents. It bothers me that I even notice it. That means I've been away too long. I really enjoy hearing people call my husband "podnah" and me "boo" or "bay". As in, "Can I help ya 'der, podnah?" or "Whatcha need, bay?".
It's good to be home.
Glad y'all made it down there. Can't wait to hear more about how everything is going!
