The Meeting Place

If there was a key of forte, this would be sung in that key.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

At 7:00 am this morning, I left the house in a comfy sweatshirt and leggings to have breakfast with my sweet friend, Dorothy. The sun had not come up yet, and there was something quiet, cool, and peaceful about my drive to The Meeting Place downtown.

I had my cd playing {yes, I still love cd's}, and "Great is Thy Faithfulness" was the tune on my drive over. While A.Lee and I are still waiting on God for an answered prayer, I suddenly realized that no matter what happens, God. is. faithful. The end. Done. Period.

I would have missed the mark by a mile if I didn't realize how faithful He has been already, and how He will be tomorrow. I could have easily missed the opportunity to be grateful for a wonderful husband who helps sustain me here in Anderson; or missed out on a valuable friendship with Dorothy; or missed the irreplaceable knowledge I've attained at the jewelry store. And so much more. I have a grateful heart because He is faithful to me. That is His promise.

So what spawned all the {grateful} emotions? What is so special about "The Meeting Place"? This "place" has such a vintage charm about it, probably 'cause it's been there forever. The waitresses call you "honey" and "sweetheart", and pour you more coffee just after you take your first sip. Old men go there to meet up with their retired buddies, and old ladies gather together with their Bibles for what looks like an early morning Bible study. It's such a sweet, wholesome place. Not to say that Cracker Barrel isn't, but there's just something special about this Meetin' Place.

Places like this make you love the little things about life. I often talk about {and seem to blog about} these little things: 7:00 am breakfasts, flea market finds, produce stands, fresh flowers, music, and afternoon cocktails to name a few. I count them all a blessing.

I like to think about the big picture of what the Lord is trying to tell me. Maybe He's not trying to tell me anything. Or maybe He's just saying enjoy the blessings of My Hand. Or could he be saying, "Come meet with Me"?

Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

"Great is Thy Faithfulness"
