Well, well, well. It's October 20, so you know what that means. It's Whitty's b.day! That's me!
More enjoyable though, is that today is the anniversary of the glorious day I met Andrew. It's been 4 years. 4 years!
I've said it before, but this is the best birthday present I've gotten yet!
Not to be outdone is the newest addition to our family: Auburnadette. We call her Aubie.
LSU plays Auburn this weekend, so the name is quite apropos. Andrew said the only way she's staying is if she's named Aubie. I guess Mike wouldn't have worked anyway for a girl.
And Andrew's threats are should be taken very seriously. "If she does this, she's gone...If she's not named Aubie, she's gone..."
Yea, okay.
And let's not forget the obligatory "I don't like cats" statement.
He's the one that bought that bottle for her! He sterilized the nipple, warmed her bottle, and tested the milk on his wrist to make sure it wasn't too hot.
Yes, he did.
She is just the sweetest. I had to get up with her in the middle of the night 3 times on night 1, but the past 2 nights, she slept through! Yippie! Now if she'd just learn to use that litter box.
I just realized how long I talked about my new cat. I caught myself showing a picture of our "baby" to our friends. When did I become that person? I've always been so incredulous when people show me pictures of their pets, nieces, nephews, or children for that matter. Honestly, no one cares as much as you do. But apparently, I've fallen victim to this habit.
In other news, let's talk about my birthday again.
Andrew took me to Whole Foods last night so I could pick out my own birthday flowers! That's my kind of shopping.
He suggested the fall mix, which was a perfect choice. We're having company this weekend, and I had planned to put flowers in my mint julep cups.
I thought these did just fine.
They smell so wonderful!
Part of the reason why I love this time of year (other than it being my birthday) is the weather. It's a glorious feeling out there. And football is in the air. Wish Andrew and me some luck as we try to stay married during this tough time...Auburn vs. LSU football.
haha yeah yeah yeah. For blogging about a cat, you sure did rat me out!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, to be clear I don't like 99% of cats. I'm a dog person. I wish the cat was a puppy. I feel bad for Aubie because she doesn't have a mom to take care of her, and she's completely helpless.
Second, I didn't sterilize anything. I just cut a hole in the bottle nipple for it to eat. I was following directions on the box.
And third, you failed to ask people how to train a kitten to pee in a litter box... or how to bathe a kitten and dry it off properly... anyone?
Oh my friend, I hope you had the best birthday ever!!!! I just love that you met Mr. Andrew Lee on your birthday! That is the best! You are now the owner of a cat. This is a curious situation, but I must admit the kitten is cute. lol. Congrats Mama!
