Sometimes, it's nice to be a tourist in your own town.
Sometimes, it's nice to surprise your husband with a small gift.
And come to find out, $10 can get you a long way.
I called up and bought these.
Tickets to watch renowned chef, Paul Prudhomme cook and renowned artist, George Rodrigue paint.
Forget People magazine and their "celebrities." These are the kind of people we'd rather hear from: they've actually accomplished goals with their God-given talent. {Not to discredit talented actors. Gah, I hate having to be politically correct.}
We got our drinks and took our seats.
And what a treat it was to see George paint...
And Paul cook...
{I just realized that John and Ringo weren't there. Ha.Ha.}
And all of that inspiration for $10! Ten dollars!
If you know me, you know I love a good inspirational story. It helps me to "keep the faith" through others' testimonies. It's good, it's hopeful, it's inspiring. I need a good dose of those things in the midst of Andrew and I reading the Book of Ecclesiastes. I've referred to Ecclesiastes as the cynical Proverbs.
It is. But to keep me from being too cynical, we now have this on my coffee table:
A signed copy of a Blue Dog book from George Rodrigue himself.
And we have this in our recipe collection:
Blackened chicken and tasso in a cream sauce!
I think George Rodrigue and Paul Prudhomme's success will inspire Andrew and me to keep the faith.
And as fate would have it, I stumbled across what another Paul said just this morning:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7, apostle Paul.
So...when are you making the blackened chicken and tasso in cream sauce?! Yum!!
