The Farm

How much do we love going to Andrew's cousin's farm in Alabama?! We passed ourselves a real good, relaxing time this weekend.

But I'm going to need you to brace yourselves.

Because along with lounging by the fire....

I went deer hunting.

Really, I did.

Well, maybe I should rephrase that to: I put on a bunch of camo clothes, whispered in a deer stand, and saw the occasional wild life.

That's my definition of deer hunting.

Beautiful?      No?      Moving on...

Now this is handsome! Nothin' like a man in a deer stand.

All I have to say is thank God I was there to keep him company 'cause he would have been so bored without me there talking to him. I was shushed a few times, but poor thing wouldn't have had a thing to do without me there.

Maybe he would have preferred it that way, but he asked me to go. Bet you can't guess which item in this pile belongs to me.

After two hours of quality time with a husband in a deer stand, hearing woodpeckers and bird calls, and seeing about 6 deer, my first "hunt" came to an end.

The eggs, sausage, king cake and beer were calling our name.

The boys started the fire outside, and I snapped some cute ones. They don't like how I use the word "cute." Too bad. (SB and Lauren, I'll email you these if you want.)

In keeping with the love, check out this most precious thing.

Hope her momma doesn't care that I put her beautiful child on the internet like this.

This is the part of the trip where I start looking even better. It got colder, and I put more of Andrew's clothes on. And of course don't forget your slippers by the fire.

It's nice to be rugged, look rugged, and have nobody care.

I've learned that you really don't need boots at the farm as long as you have your slippers.

We look forward to many more weekends like this, and we're grateful for the opportunities to go to places like "The Farm." It recharges us and makes us so happy.

I'm glad to be recharged because I've got one busy week ahead of me.

Hope to update you soon!

One last note: go buy some slippers. You never know when you'll be at a farm to use them.

  1. Looks like y'all had a fantastic time! How wonderful to be cuddled up next to that fire in your slippers.

I'm impressed that you deer hunted. Andrew may not want to go without you since you were such good company in the deer stand.

Also, love the pic of MM.
