The Little Things

Even as a child, I loved the "Life's Little Instructions" books. I actually own "The Complete {Leather-bound} Life's Little Instructions." I think one piece of advice that's given is to  "stop, smell the roses, and enjoy the little things in life." I want to do more of that.

Sometimes it's nice to stop and enjoy the little things. One gorgeous evening this past week, A.Lee and I poured ourselves a cocktail, sat in our wicker chairs, waited for the sun to set, and enjoyed life a little. He sketched a fancy cabin house while I joyfully watched and took photos. There's not much else that makes me as happy as when I see Andrew draw, paint, sketch, or use any of his amazing talents.

Amazing, God-given talent.

"L" is for "Lee"... and for "use a coaster."

And he bought these flowers for me!

I'm smitten.

Life's not always like this, but when it is, I savor it, try to remember to take pictures, and enjoy it all over again.

  1. Hi there! I was reading your blog that I got off of Darby's. I am in college and your relationship reminds me a lot of mine. Except I'm the drawer and my boyfriend is the one who sits and captures the moments! haha. Congrats on such a successful marriage and a beautiful business.

  2. Precious Whitney! Mike and I often sit outside while he plays guitar and I'll read. We call it "porch sittin'" and we're real good at it!
