I had my last hoorah of the summer before the baby's here.
Come to think of it, I had my only hoorah of the summer before the baby's here.
Pregnant ladies like to stay home...in the air conditioning. At least I do.
But at least we ate well during our big 4th of July celebrations.
And we were pleased with our views.

I have to say, one of the highlights of my summer was my time in Anderson, SC to visit my girlfriends. Even the drive over was the most enjoyable. I prefer hymns for the morning drive, but after the sun is up, any old country music will suit just fine.
I enjoyed the Bellemy Brothers and Alabama. They serenaded me as I passed apple trees, hand painted signs, and clothes lines on the windy roads.
I was able to think clearly, and I realized that these simple mountain people have it just about right. They are salt to the earth kinda people. The kind of people that minister the Gospel with their actions without having to use words.
That notion is heavy on me. I think about my son who's about to join this world. I hope he enjoys the little things as much as his momma and daddy do. I hope he sees our actions in our simple little lives to reflect character and integrity.
Can you believe I got all that from old windy mountain roads? It's therapy for me. It's good for the soul.
Happy Independence Day!
