My {boring} summer

I've talked about how boring this 2012 summer has been for me. In a way it has, but in a way it's been truly special.

My parents hosted a French girl for nearly a month. We've known the family for years, so it was such a nice treat for her to be with us. Her contentment was amazing. Truly something worth taking notes on. She's 15 and was such a pleasure to be around. I want to be more "French" that way.

Andrew had 2 surgeries in one day. That was fun. He had surgery on his sinuses and his tonsils removed. I heard that men don't do well coming out of anesthesia. That person was correct. After he came back to his wonderful-self, all was well with recovery. It was a slow climb up, but I was able to be his nurse for a few weeks. I can't tell you how glad I am that we have put that behind us.

No pictures. Except it would have been funny to see him in the recliner with bandages, PJ's, and sunglasses on. He wouldn't let me take them off...the sunglasses, that is.

I went to a beautiful wedding, and unfortunately, had to attend two funerals. We are still praying that the light and peace of Christ would shine through the pain. Life is hard sometimes.

I am mere days away from my due date, and I've started the beginning process of labor. My son is on his way. It is the most surreal feeling. I am praying for our health, and mostly for my heart and for what it's about to experience.

No pictures. No need for birthing pictures either!

I went to an antique show at 38 weeks. People thought I was crazy. If I feel good, why not? I got some good pieces, costume and sterling!

Pictures to come soon, I hope.

I haven't booked much on my calendar because I am about to be a mother literally any day now. But my days have been sweet with starting another crochet project, watching my mom cook, drinking the occasional cup of coffee, enjoy this summer's peaches, strawberries, and cherries, and basking in this season of joy. I will update the blog when this joy is realized with a precious baby in my arms.
