Things have been going well for our little expanding family. Yesterday I had my second check up for this thing called pregnancy. My doctor is very pleased at how well I'm doing. She's pleased with the baby's progress too. So now that I have that behind me, I wait for my next visit....and tend to my ailing cat.
Aubie, our cat, got spayed and declawed last week. It's been something else.
She came home with glue on her paws, stitches in her abdomen, and a plastic cone around her neck. It was so pitiful. She was a trouper, though, playing like she had just been released from cat jail, which isn't far from the truth. I put her in the bathroom to contain her and her energy, but when I opened the door a few hours later, she had removed her cone and was licking her abdomen.
Andrew had just come home, and I told her that I think she ate her stitches!
So off to the LSU Vet School we went. And another $120 later, she came back with a fiber cone and a report telling her parents (Andrew and me/Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dumb) that she was fine. Her stitches were internal.
Great.
She's pitiful.
I'm off to the vet again today because I found bloody paw prints on my cow hide rug. I know that cow was dead before the blood got there. I'm just glad Andrew wasn't here to see it because he passes out at the sight of blood. Literally. Mental note: Get Dr. Chauvin to prepare Andrew for labor and delivery.
In other news, I completed a craft project this weekend: antique frame chalk board.
The frame cost about $29.00 and the wood totaled around $9.00. I borrowed the chalk board paint from a friend. I love the way it looks, and it helps us memorize scripture or be uplifted at the least.
It's the little things that get me through the day. I'll get through this pregnancy, my kitty's feline issues, and everything else.
One day at a time, right?
