Country for the day

Yesterday, we drove down to the country for Andrew to do a project for work. We parked right under the Japanese Magnolia's and saw and smelled their beauty.

And for nostalgia's sake...

I had to.

Andrew took a panoramic photo of the back yard, and some of the farmers that own the land were burning the sugar cane. The smell of burning cane is so intoxicating to me. It reminds me of fall, but I am quickly reminded of spring ahead because of those Japanese Magnolia's.

On the way out of town, Andrew saw some of these old slave quarters and needed these shots for backgrounds for projects for work.

I think he had a blast photographing these old buildings and the country. In fact, judging by the amount of pictures he has from yesterday, I know he did.

We drove home in time to watch the sunset....from the interstate. For some reason, it isn't quite as picturesque as in the country.

  1. Such great pics! I love the cute one of you as a little girl! I tend to lean toward the nostalgic myself :) The farmland looks beautiful, too. My husband and I love old houses (he's an architect, but I just get it by nature I guess!) Hope ya'll had a lovely weekend!
