I took Vyvanze (stimulant medication for us folks with ADHD), and I'm feeling the affects this morning. I probably shouldn't blog today, as I'm sure I'll be extra-wordy, extra-thorough, extra-annoying.
Whenever I take these meds, I get bogged down with writing my to-do list rather than completing it. {Ironic.} I get so thoroughly set up to do my tasks, but 3 hours have past by the time I get what I needed to get done. Case in point: one time in college, my sister came home to our condo where I was supposed to be studying for finals, and I was cleaning base boards. Busted.
So I said all of that to lead up to something so simple: I had a great weekend.
I went to Santa Rosa Beach for a friend's wedding, and I stayed with Andrew's cousins, whom I adore. I also adore her new store in Santa Rosa. {Shameless plug: visit here.} They were so gracious to me. Love em.
I was exhausted on my drive home. But I realized how much I love the country, and how much I love the south, and how much I love Alabama. No, we're not moving to Eufaula, AL, but I enjoyed seeing the historic houses, the farms, and the produce stands. I stopped to get some fresh peaches and marmalade that Andrew likes. That's what he ate for breakfast today. I was so proud to give him such a fresh breakfast (which he eats often), but I bought from local farmers and felt real good about it. I could have only been prouder if I had made the marmalade myself. (But we all know how fun canning is...)
I'm a country girl, and I know that full-well. {Cue John Denver, "Country Roads"}
After my sweet ride through the country, I entered hell Atlanta. And then I got home to South Carolina where I am wondering when my next road trip will be. Probably next weekend.
